kWh (kilowatt-hour) in a battery measures the total energy it can store or deliver over time. It equals 1,000 watt-hours, showing how much power a battery can provide for a specific duration.

The C rating of a battery indicates how quickly it can safely charge or discharge relative to its capacity. A 1C rating means the battery can discharge its full capacity in 1 hour, while higher C ratings allow faster discharge rates.

A typical car battery weighs between 25 to 50 pounds (11 to 23 kg), depending on its size and type. Larger batteries, like those in electric vehicles, can weigh several hundred kilograms.

A battery may discharge by itself due to parasitic drains (devices consuming power when off), age-related capacity loss, or internal issues like short circuits. Extreme temperatures can also accelerate self-discharge.
